HSLA was established in 2003 to supply Fine Wines from throughout the world to private
clients, trade buyers and restaurants. We specialise particularly in the wines of
Bordeaux and Burgundy but have expertise in a wide range of wines from around the
world.
Our aim is to offer a high level of personal service to all our clients whether
ordering a case of Prosecco for everyday drinking or building a cellar for investment.
We are lucky enough to have tried the majority of wines on our list and we are able
to offer advice on all aspects of Fine Wine.
Our buying relationships both with trade and direct from producers mean that we
are always able offer competitive prices compared to the rest of the market without
ever compromising the provenance of the wines we buy.

Michael Stobbs

Michael Stobbs is founder and managing Director of HS Liquid Assets. He has worked
in the wine trade since leaving university in 1997. Following the well worn path
of working for Oddbins and then Majestic Wine he joined Armit Wines in 1999. It
was at Armit wines that Michael gained a passion for Bordeaux and Burgundy and also
began learning about and advising clients on wine investment. It was thanks to the
interest and investment of one of these clients that Michael eventually made the
break from Armit, setting up HSLA. Since then Michael has developed relationships
with producers and suppliers throughout Europe, turning HSLA into one of the new
breed of successful and innovative wine merchants. Outside of work Michael enjoys
eating out, cooking, watching and playing cricket as well as playing real tennis and rackets.
